Mackenzie advises unionized and non-unionized employers on all areas of labour and employment law, including labour relations, discipline and termination, drafting employment contracts and policies, occupational health and safety, human rights, and employment standards. He has a passion for advocacy and represents employers across labour and employment litigation matters.
Mackenzie is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law. During his studies, Mackenzie was a founding member of the Conflict Analytics Lab, a global research-based consortium concerned with the application of machine learning to dispute resolution. He co-created the Conflict Analytic Lab’s “MyOpenCourt”, an employment law platform designed to help both employers and employees understand their legal rights.
Prior to joining SOM as an associate, Mackenzie was a summer student in 2019 and completed his articles with the firm in 2020-2021. Mackenzie was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021.
